Salutations, Fellow Jackson State University Alumni:
I am humbled and honored to serve in the position of President of the Houston Area Alumni Chapter for the 2009-2011 term.
First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt sentiment of gratitude to all of you for the support, encouragement, and prayers that has been bestowed upon me. It is my goal to work diligently and tirelessly to ensure that these next two years are the best yet. However, the aforementioned cannot be accomplishment via words only. It is going to take a concerted effort on all of our parts to fulfill this goal.
Alumni, we have a mammoth charge before us. However, I am very confident that the officers, committee chairpersons, and members of this great chapter will exceed those goals in an unprecedented manner. The foci for the next two years are varied. They include, recruitment and reclamation efforts, increased funding raising initiatives, community social uplift activities, recruitment of gifted and honor students from the Houston area, and lastly, to have fun.
As always, I encourage you all to utilize the www.jsuhoustonalumni.org website. This is an invaluable tool to stay connected and abreast of all the pertinent issues and activities of which the chapter is involved. Please mark your calendars and prepare yourselves to recommit to serve and support our beloved Jackson State University.
In closing, please review our calendar of events and the standing committees. Please contact the chairperson of any committee in which you feel that you are interested in serving. Remember, it is only through your assistance, support, ideas, and efforts that Houston Area Alumni Chapter remains "The Chapter of Choice".
May God continue to bless and keep you, your family, and the Houston Area Alumni Chapter.
